Gardens Prime Star is the #1 bull of the breed with a Marbling EPD of +1.15, and is in the top 1% of the breed for $Grid and $Quality Grade.

 

Gardens Wave is the #3 bull with a Marbling EPD of +1.10 while being in the top 5% for calving ease, the top 1% for marbling, the top 3% for REA with outstanding $Values  putting him in the top 4% for $Wean, top 1% for $Grid, top 1% for $Quality Grade, and just misses being in the top 1% for $Beef.  Check out the sons of Wave we are using under herd sires.

Many thanks to all our buyers for our great sale on Monday, April 7th.

The 100 bulls sold for an average of $3673.50. The fall bulls averaged 3746 and the spring bulls averaged 3601.

 

We had 55 bulls staying in the state of Kansas, 29 bulls went to Missouri, 8 to Nebraska, 3 to Texas, and 1 each to Alabama, Illinois, Tennessee, New Mexico and Alberta, Canada.

 

Lot 1, the $18,000 top selling bull went to Lindmark Land & Cattle Co. in Purcell, OK.

Lot 69 was purchased by Oak Manor Plantation in Grand Junction, TN and Sherril Angus in Bolivar, TN for $15,000.

 Benchmark Cattle Co. in Alberta, Canada purchased Lot 65 for $10,000.

Lungren Angus Ranch in Gove, KS purchased lot 55 for $8,500.

R. B. White in Albuquerque, NM purchased lot 6 for $6,500.

We again had the privilege of working with the KSU Ag Research Station in Hays, Kansas. Listed below are the averages from the steers and heifers that were selected to be killed at .40 inches of backfat.

The second group were killed at .60 inches of backfat.  These steers and heifers were out of the Ag Research Station's commercial cow herd that are comprised of 70% angus, 30% Simmental genetics.
